Ms. Strecker died Friday, March 28, 2003, in a Dallas hospital. ========= Lawton Constitution 2 Apr 2003 Katherine Joyce "Joy" Strecker DALLAS - Funeral for former Chattanooga resident Katherine Joyce "Joy" Strecker, 76, Dallas, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Community Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, with the Rev. Wayne Schoonover officiating. Ms. Strecker died Friday, March 28, 2003, at a Dallas medical center. Burial will be at Chattanooga Cemetery under direction of Jackson Funeral Home, Frederick. She was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Chattanooga to Katherine Schreiner and Henry Strecker Jr. She attended school in Chattanooga, and graduated from Chattanooga High School in 1944. She later attended business school, and worked in the Water Utility Department of the City of Dallas for 23 years. Survivors include 14 cousins: Harold Dreith, Rolf, Iowa; Sam Dreith, Seattle, Wash.; Alma Ruth Pierson, Meadville, Pa.; Helen Yarbrough, Tucson, Ariz; Ernest Dreith, Vera Shirk and Eleanor Ray, all of Chattanooga; Laverne Pruitt, Estancia, N.M.; Don Howard, El Cajon, Calif.; Viola Eddleman, Irving, Texas; Sylvia Ford, Stillwater; Janell Griffin, Wichita Falls, Texas; Paul Wayne Stoll, Hurst, Texas; and Bernece Richards, Homosassa, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; 13 aunts and uncles: Lydia and Ruth Strecker, Ben Strecker, Martha Howard, Mary Geis, Rebecca Stoll, Katie Dreith, Laura Geis, Freddie Strecker, Leah Strecker, Mollie Beck, Hannah Williams and Johnnie Schreiner; and six cousins: Reuben Dreith, Calvin Strecker, Gordan Strecker, Gary Lynn Stoll, Phyllis Ann Stoll and Thelma Gage.
