Virgil F. Schell

FARWELL - Virgil F. Schell, 91, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Hamlin Memorial United Methodist 
Church with the Rev. Beth Harrington officiating. Burial will be in Sunset 
Terrace at Farwell by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis, N.M.

Mr. Schell was born in Bethel, Okla., and moved to Farwell in 1951 from 
Oklahoma. He farmed in the Farwell community for many years. He also 
worked for Farwell Hardware for a number of years. He was a member of 
Hamlin Memorial United Methodist Church.

He married Jo Coke in 1935 at Fredrick, Okla.

Survivors include two daughters, Jo Anne Gavin of St. Mary's, Iowa, and 
Karen Snell of Clovis; two sons, Jimmy Schell of Grady, N.M., and Johnny 
Schell of Studio City, Calif.; a brother, Harlan Schell of Oklahoma City; 
10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family requests memorials be to Methodist Children's Home. Friends may 
call at the funeral home. The casket will be closed at the service.
