Snively, Sr. Age 72, Lawton - Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Sergeant Snively died Friday at his residence. Burial with full military honors will be in the Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin. He was born on June 26, 1933 in Boulder, Colorado to Earl Trovillian and Carolyn Irene (Brown) Snively. He married Arlene Clements in Jefferson County, Colorado on August 13, 1953. He served in the US Army and had a tour in Panama and two tours in Korea. He received numerous medals including the National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Air Force Expeditionary Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. He retired on April 30, 1973. He worked for civil service at Fort Sill as an electronics specialist. He retired after more than twenty years. He had a Master’s Degree in Psychology and one in Sociology from Cameron University. Survivors include his wife of the home; five children, Pamela JoAnn Snively of Longmont, Colorado; John W. Snively, Jr. of El Paso, Texas; Katherine Irene Bowers and her husband, Donald, of Lancaster, California; Franz Vincent Snively of Oklahoma City; and Anthony Joseph Snively and his wife, Vanessa, of Lawton; seven grandchildren, Carolyn Schwebach of Lafayette, Colorado, Joshua Henson of Lawton, Tiffany and Rachel Bowers, both of Lancaster, California, Chelsea Snively of San Antonio, Texas, and Amanda and Chad Parker, both of Lawton; and numerous other family and friends.
