Smith Funeral for Ella D. Smith, Lawton, will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at New United Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Tenn. Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at her home. Arrangements are by Jefferson Funeral Home. She was born March 22, 1936, and was a former resident of Chattanooga, Tenn. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ernest and Paulla Smith, Lawton; and two grandchildren, Patrick and Kendra Smith, Lawton. ========= Lawton Constitution 10 Sep 2002 Ella D. Smith Funeral for Ella D. Smith, Lawton, was Sunday at New United Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Tenn., with Pastor McKinnely Holloway officiating. Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002, at her home. Burial was at Forrest Hills Cemetery, Chattanooga, under direction of Hardwick and Sons Funeral Home. She was born March 22, 1936, in Courtland, Ala., to Ernest and Channie B. Smith. She lived in Chattanooga for more than 40 years before moving to Lawton in July 2002. She graduated from Central High School, Courtland, Ala., and was employed by Universal Life Insurance Company. She retired from Dixie Yarns Inc. She was a member of New United Baptist Church and a former member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Chattanooga. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ernest "Rick" and Paulla Barker Smith, Lawton; and two grandchildren: Patrick and Kendra Smith, Lawton.
