All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Margaret Jewel Baker Snowdon MEMPHIS - Margaret Jewel Baker Snowdon, 80, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church of Memphis with the Rev. Neely Landrum and the Rev. Tommy Ewing officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Memphis Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. Snowdon was born in Memphis. She worked at the Burlington Sheet Factory, Perry's and Hall County Hospital. She was a dorm mother at Northwest Texas School of Nursing and helped begin the Meals on Wheels program in Memphis. She was a member of the Hall County Hospital Auxiliary. She also belonged to the Methodist Church Victory Sunday School Class and choir for more than 50 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Odd Fellows and the Rebekahs. She married Charles Thomas Snowdon in Lawton, Okla., in 1938. He preceded her in death in 1967. Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Elaine Snowdon Baker of Phoenix and Anita Louise Snowdon Mitchell of Hedley; two sons, Charles Thomas Snowdon Jr. of Cedar Park and Fred Earl Snowdon of Grandbury; one sister, Alice Hill of Wink; and one brother, Ray Baker of Fort Worth. The family requests memorials be to the Victory Sunday School Class at the First United Methodist Church.
