Funeral for retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 Thomas F. Shannon, 74, Lawton will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Mr. Shannon died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at a local care center. Burial with military honors will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. He was born Nov. 24, 1928, in Newark, N.J., to Edward and Peggy Shannon. He retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service. He served two tours in Korea, and two tours in Vietnam. He was a longtime Lawton resident and a member of Lions Club International on the local and state level. Survivors include three sons and a daughter-in-law: Thomas and Lourdes Shannon, San Antonio, Texas; Robert Shannon, Lawton; and John Shannon, Oklahoma City; and a granddaughter, Analisse, San Antonio, Texas.
