"Nene" After a brief but courageous battle with Mesothelioma, Mildred joined her beloved husband, Manson in their heavenly home on July 1, 2006. Mildred K. Lamb was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, and at 16 she married the love of her life, Manson Sallee. Because Manson loved the Northwest, they and their four children Don, Sharon, Debra and Dennis moved to Pasco. Mildred lived in Pasco for 47 years before moving to Lynnwood, WA. The family of six grew to 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all who dearly loved their Nene. In fact, Mildred became Nene to many who knew and loved her over the years. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Riverview for more than 45 years. With Manson, she faithfully served the Lord. Mildred loved to bowl, fish, sew, cook, travel and dedicated her life to her family and friends. Mildred had three brothers and six sisters. In June, she attended her last family reunion in Lawton, Oklahoma. Her family and extended family remained by her side, loving her and caring for her until she went into the arms of Jesus. During her last days as we all gathered around her, she would say 'Don't cry for me. I'll always be with you.' Mildred had the most forgiving heart anyone could ever have. She will be missed everyday for the rest of our lives. So, until we meet again Nene, we know your heart is with all of us. A celebration of Mildred's life will be held at Riverview Baptist Church, 4900 W. Richardson, Pasco, on July 8, 2006, at 2 p.m., concluding with her burial, next to Manson, at Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 10th Avenue and Union Street, Kennewick. Please attend a reception following the internment at the Riverview Baptist Fellowship Hall. There will be a viewing at Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608 W Court St, Pasco, WA, on Friday, July 7, 2006, 6 to 8 p.m. Published in the Tri-City Herald from 7/6/2007 - 7/7/2007.
