Mr. Taylor died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003, in Lawton. Arrangements are by Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. No services are planned at this time. He was born March 25, 1933, in Blount County, Ala., to Cora Elizabeth Waddel and Willie Andrew Taylor. He attended school in Alabama and graduated from Corner High School, where he played basketball, football and baseball. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was a staff sergeant. After his military service he worked as a coal miner in the Oak Grove, Ala., area. He was a Baptist. Survivors include three sons: Jesse Taylor Jr. and his wife, Valerie, Pleasant Grove, Ala.; Gary Ernest Taylor and his wife, Teresa, Empire, Ala.; Kerry Joe Taylor and his wife, Stephanie, Huntsville, Ala.; four sisters; Mary Bartee, Huntsville; Dorothy Mitchell, Niota, Tenn.; Betty Littleton, Lawrenceville, Ga.; and Sue Jones, Hoover, Ala.; a brother, Jerry Taylor, Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
