All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 31 Oct 2002 Thomas, Waltraud "Wally" Funeral for Waltraud "Wally" Thomas, 63, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Chuck Pettigrew, pastor, Liberty Heights Christian Church, officiating. Mrs. Thomas died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at her home. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill. She was born in Darmstadt, Germany, on May 23, 1939, to Bernard and Sophie Schmidt. She married retired 1st Sgt. Donald William Thomas in Darmstadt on Sept. 7, 1960. He died March 13, 1984. She worked for Grave-A-Name Manufacturing before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 183. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Paula Thomas, Elgin; a daughter and fiance': Donna Bly and Danny Wimple, both of Lawton; seven brothers and sisters; four grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Crismon and Kaytlin; and a great-grandson, Jeremy. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cleo Craig Memorial Cancer Research Foundation, 5002 SW Lee, Lawton, OK 73505.
