RUTH LARUE [TEEL] TOWNLEY

Funeral services for Ruth Larue Townley, 75, of Amber, will be held at 
10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 2, 2005, at the Son Rise Baptist Church with 
Curtis Townley officiating.

Ruth Larue Townley was born April 28, 1930, in Cache, Oklahoma, the 
daughter of William Teel and Mary Jane (Timmons) Teel.  She died Saturday, 
July 30, 2005, at her home in Amber.

Ruth grew up and attended school in Lula, Oklahoma.  At age 15 she came to 
the Grady County area, where she met and married Ike Townley, on June 14, 
1950, in Sterling, Oklahoma.  In 1964 they moved to Amber, where they 
still currently reside.

Ruth was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She enjoyed 
spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was a 
giver, always willing to do whatever needed to be done, never expecting 
anything in return.

She loved to quilt.  She made quilted heirlooms for her family, making 
each one “Special” for whatever the occasion may be.  She loved gardening 
and when she wasn’t in the garden she was canning the vegetables from the 
garden.

She was a member of the Son Rise Baptist Church, and former member of the 
First Baptist Church where she taught the 4 and 5 year old Sunday school 
class for several years, and helped with the custodial work in the church.

Ruth was preceded in death by both parents; and two sisters; Donna Faye 
Teel, and Eunice Newberry.

She is survived by husband, Ike Townley, of the home; five sons and 
daughters-in-law:  Don and Judy Null, of Amber, Bobby and Linda Townley, 
of Lone Grove, Steve and Mickie Townley, of Chickasha, Rick Townley, of 
Rush Springs, and Curtis and Penny Townley, of Muskogee; two daughters and 
son-in-law:  Patsy and Luther Reeves, of Blanchard, and Cathy Townley, of 
Norman; Five brothers:  Tom Teel, Robert Teel, Dearl Teel, Jackie Teel, 
and Luther Teel; one sister, Mary Spiegel; sixteen grandchildren; one 
great grandchild and one on the way; and numerous relatives and friends.

Interment will be in the Amber Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson 
Funeral Home.
