Police said Herman D. Usry, 46, Lawton, Okla., apparently fell from a camper pickup driven by Bonnie Lee Sullins, also of Lawton. Investigators were trying to find if Usry was killed by hitting the small trailer which the pickup was pulling, or if he was hit later by another vehicle. Sullins did not discover Usry was not in the pickup until he stopped for the night in Clarendon. He said he heard Clarendon police discussing a hit-run case, and drove back to Amarillo to discover it was Usry. Sullins said he was stopped by the highway patrol Wednesday night in Claud, Texas and his car was searched for signs of a hit-run accident. He said he was not aware at that time that Usry was not in the pickup. Police found no skid marks at the scene of the accident. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Comanche County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/comanche/comanche.html
