Albert Vaughn Sr., 77, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Greater Galilee Baptist Church, Lawton, with the Rev. James Thornton officiating. Michael Cross, elder, New Hope Church of God in Christ, will give the eulogy. The Rev. Vaughn died Friday, April 25, 2003, at his home. Burial with military honors will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Howard-Harris Funeral Services. He was born Jan. 26, 1926, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to Humphrey and Lucy Vaughn. He was educated in Michigan schools and served in the U.S. Army. He was a disabled veteran. He came to Lawton in 1947 and married Ruby McMath on Dec. 19, 1981, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was pastor of the Church of The Living God, Lawton; and St. John's Baptist Church, Mangum. Survivors include his wife, of the home; six sons and four daughters-in- law: David and Sophia Vaughn, Elgin; Thomas Vaughn, Oklahoma City; Gerald Vaughn, Bay City, Mich.; Vernon and Mary Vaughn, Des Moines, Wash.; Michael and Kris Vaughn, Spokane, Wash.; Richard and Joy Vaughn, Germany; two stepsons: Leroy McMath, Fort Worth, Texas; and Tominie McMath, Lawton; a sister, Melrienva Watson, Flint, Mich.; a brother, George Vaughn, Springfield, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great- grandchild; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; a son, Albert Vaughn Jr., and a grandson.
