Vodochodsky Funeral for John J. Vodochodsky, Lawton, is pending with Whinery- Huddleston Funeral Service. Mr. Vodochodsky died Wednesday Sept. 7, 2005, in Lawton. ========= Lawton Constitutioin 9 Sep 2005 John J. Vodochodsky Graveside service with military honors for retired Sgt. 1st Class John J. Vodochodsky, 65, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Sgt. Vodochodsky died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, in Lawton. Arrangements are by Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service. He was born July 1, 1940, in Marshalltown, Iowa, to Florence and John Vodochodsky. He married Doris Flamm Vodochodsky on Nov. 4, 1960, in Germany. He served in the U.S. Army and retired honorably after 21 years of service as sergeant first class in 1977. During his service he received many awards, including the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal (6). He was employed as a carpenter by Lawton Public Schools for 23 years. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three children and their spouses: Edmond J. and Slyvia Vodochodsky, El Paso, Texas; Raymond and Rebecca Vodochodsky, Washington; and Melinda Hernandez and Keith Brown, Arlington, Texas; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Danny Vodochodsky; a half-brother, Barry Vodochodsky; a sister, Lorna Gould; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
