All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 7 Jan 2005 Vaden, Bobbie Bernice Funeral for Bobbie Bernice Vaden, 69, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Gary Neighbors officiating. Mrs. Vaden died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, at a Lawton hospital. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Dyersburg, Tenn., to Robert and Bernice Massengill. She grew up in Tennessee and was a graduate of Humes High School in Memphis. She married retired Sgt. Maj. Paul James Vaden on Nov. 6, 1958, in Memphis. She was a cook with Lawton Public Schools at Geronimo Road School. She was the first ASA-certified woman to umpire both men and women's softball in Lawton. She was a member of Pollard Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters: Paula J. and Kelly Jannette and Carla B. Vaden, all of Lawton; two sons and daughters- in-law: Robert Wayne and Cindy Vaden, Elgin; and Gary A. and Sophie Vaden, Lawton; 10 grandchildren: Kendra McCoy, Nicholas Nickels, Karah Jones, Jessica Goodfellow, Katie Jones, Nicole, Grant, Heath, Emily and Hannah Vaden; and a sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Ted Arnett, Vyhalia, Miss.
