All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Highland Cemetery--Lawton OK Lawton Constitution 7 Sep 2002 Esther Helen Wiest Funeral Mass for Esther Helen Wiest, 96, Lawton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. James D. M. Stafford, pastor, officiating. Mrs. Wiest died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at a nursing home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. She was born May 13, 1906, in Colorado Springs, Colo., to Zotique and Elizabeth Petit Gervais. She married Harry Wiest on July 30, 1929in Kansas City and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Altar Society, National Council of Catholic Women, and was a charter member of the Quest Club. Survivors include a daughter, Caroline Cavanaugh, Cedar Rapids; a daughter-in-law, Linda Wiest, Midland, Texas; and many grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Harry J. Wiest Jr., and two sisters: Elizabeth Gervais and Marie Bird; a grandson, John Cavanaugh; a granddaughter, Janet Cavanaugh Whalen and her husband; and a son-in-law, Jerry Cavanaugh.
