Witt, 76, Fletcher, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fletcher First Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy McFarland, pastor, and the Rev. A.L. Swagerty, Fletcher, officiating. Mrs. Witt died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at her home. Burial will be at Mountain View Community Cemetery, east of Fletcher, under direction of Hodge Funeral Home, Fletcher. She was born April 27, 1927, in Azle, Texas, to Oscar R. and Addie B. Clark Haley. She graduated from Springtown High School in 1945. She married Woodrow W. Witt on June 1, 1946, in Lake Worth, Texas. She was a military wife for 17 years, and worked in various grocery stores in this area. They owned and operated Woody's Café in Fletcher. She was a cook for Temple Inland Industries, Fletcher, and for the Fletcher Lions Club. She was a member of Fletcher First Baptist Church, where she was a nursery worker for 12 years, and funeral dinner chairperson for 20 years. Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters and a son-in- law: Sharon Gordon, Fletcher; and Debbie and Herb Gatlin, Fletcher; two sons and a daughter-in-law: William D. and Mary Witt, Lexington, Ky.; and Johnny Witt, San Diego; eight grandchildren: Scott and Yvette Gordon, Austin, Texas; Chad and Nikki Gordon, Fletcher, Adam and Jamie Swagerty, Southhaven, Miss; and Emma Witt and John Witt, both of Lexington; a great- grandchild, Tyler Gordon, Fletcher; a brother and sister-in-law, O.R. and Pauline Haley, North Richland Hills, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
