Craig Scott Wittges, 65, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, with the Rev. Stan Paggett, pastor, Pax Peace Lutheran Church, Fletcher, officiating. Mr. Wittges died Saturday, June 25, 2005, in Lawton. Arrangements are under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 19, 1939, in Sacramento, Calif., to Max Paul and Martha Wickett Wittges. He grew up in California and attended Stanford University, majoring in chemistry. He joined the Army in 1960 and served in Korea and Vietnam. His commendations include the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Air Medal, Good Conduct Medal (3rd award) and the Overseas Bar (4th award). He retired from the Army after 26 years. He also was employed as a card dealer for several companies in California. Survivors include three sons: Charles Edward Wittges and his wife Irma, Enterprise, Ala.; Mark Wittges, California; and Richard Hood and his wife Chin Hut, Baltimore, Md.; a daughter, Jennifer Camperud and her husband Lynn, Fletcher; a brother, Brent Wittges, Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren: Zachary Wittges, Heather Bailey, Jessica Wittges, Celine Wittges, Amberly Hood and Kimberly Hood; and two great-grandchildren: Kaylei and Kaegan Bailey. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Comanche County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/comanche/comanche.html
