Scott Kiowa Methodist Church, Meers. Mrs. Whitehorse died Friday, April 18, 2003, in Elgin. Burial will be in Mt. Scott Cemetery under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home, Lawton. She was born June 5, 1921, to Joseph and Manilla Chilson Carson. She married Roland Whitehorse in Dallas, Texas. She served on the board of directors of the International Festival and Sooner Girl Scout Council. She was a past president of Kiowa Blackleggings Ladies Auxiliary. She was a member of the Otoe Tribe of Missouri. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anadarko. Survivors include a son, Charlie Whitehorse; three daughters: Susan Whitehorse Johnson, Janet Tippeconnic, and Manilla Whitehorse Cloar; a brother, Chilson Howell; three sisters: Joyce Burns, Ester Custer, Janet Whitecotton; eight grandchildren: Gabriel and Levi Johnson, Ryan Whitehorse, Lance, Jordan and Halle Tippeconnic, Laura Hammons and Jessica Bench; four great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Donna Mansel, Elgin.
