All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Sunset Memorial Gardens--Lawton OK Wanda Eileen Williams Aug. 27, 1922 - May 24, 2002 Wanda Eileen Williams, a former resident of Lawton, Oklahoma, died Friday, May 24, 2002, in Saint Lucie Medical Center, Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Born Aug. 27, 1922, in Cameron, Ohio, to Rovene and Walter Ward. She was a 1940 graduate of Jackson Township High School in Indiana. Wanda married Ralph I. Williams in 1939 and accompanied him faithfully for 63 years, including being an Army wife. While he served in World War II, Korea and many other assignments from 1941 to 1970, Wanda was a perfect role model of an officer's wife. Wanda and Ralph retired from the Army in September 1970 at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and resided in Lawton, Oklahoma, until November 2001, when they moved to Florida. Wanda is survived by her husband; a sister, June Gilligan of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; three daughters: Connie Sue Hart of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; Sheila M. Chitty of Quincy, Fla.; and Kimberly J. Grant of Lawton, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. The family requests no flowers. Persons desiring to make a contribution may do so to Research on Rheumatoid Arthritis.
