Funeral was Tuesday at Cameron Baptist Church Mr. Wheeler died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, in Lawton. He was born April 12, 1915, in Denton, Texas, to Bessie Cunningham and John Emory Wheeler. He was reared in Jackson County, where he played high school basketball for Elmer-Hess High School and graduated in 1934. He worked on the family farm and went on wheat harvest. He also was employed by his brother-in-law at the family grocery store. He married Cleo Hettie Hall on Aug. 22, 1940, in Cache. He retired from the trucking industry after 20 years of service. Survivors include his wife, of the home; three children: Jerry Ann Hearn and husband Tommy, Woodville, Texas; Carroll Ray Wheeler and wife V. Andrea Dalberg, Morganton, N.C.; and Glen Irwin Wheeler, Indiahoma; a grandson, Jonathan Carroll Wheeler, Littleton, Colo.; two sisters: Evelyne Barger, Midlothian, Texas; and Margie Wilson, Garden Grove, Calif.; a brother, Vaden Emory Wheeler, Midwest City; and many other relatives and friends.
