All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 3 Dec 2003 Horace Edward "Ace" Wheeler TEXAS CITY, Texas — Graveside service for Horace Edward "Ace" Wheeler, 65, Texas City, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery, Lawton. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 13, 2003 at Bayou Golf Course, Texas City, Texas. Mr. Wheeler died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, at a Baytown, Texas, medical center. Arrangements are by L.A. Crespo Funeral Directors, Houston. He was born Oct. 22, 1938, in Lawton. He lived in Texas City since 1972. He served in the Armed Forces for 20 years, retiring in 1972 as a warrant officer. He served in Vietnam and Thailand. He worked at UTMB as a bio technician and retired in 2000. Survivors include his wife, Mary B. Wheeler; a daughter, Carolann, "Mickey" Wheeler; a son, Nathan Edward Wheeler; a brother, Earl Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Kidd Wheeler; his father, Earl Nathan "Jack" Wheeler; and two sisters: Elsie Johnson and Dortha Horvath.
