All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Austin, Jean Fulfs Altus Times 16 May 2004 Austin Jean Fulfs Austin, 71, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, in Ann Arbor, Mich., after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Fort Worth, Texas to be followed by a gathering of family and friends at The Fort Worth Club. Private family burial service in Randlett. Jean was born Jan. 22, 1933, to Paul and Vera Fulfs in Randlett. She grew up and graduated from high school. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in music in 1954 and 1956, respectively, from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Soon after graduating, she married Robert H. Alexander and moved to Fort Worth, where she spent most of the subsequent 30 years living and raising two daughters. In Fort Worth, she was an active member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, where she sang in the choir, and the local chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota, a national music fraternity. She also served as a music teacher at Texas Wesleyan College and a travel consultant at Kay Dickson Travel. In 1992, she married William B. Austin Jr. and moved to Altus. In Altus, she was an active member of the community involved in PEO, MacDowell Club and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill. Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Alexander Morris and husband, Christopher E. of New York, N.Y., and Lisa Alexander Fitzgerald and husband, Gregory A. of Ann Arbor, Mich.; five grandchildren, Liam Fitzgerald, Madeline Morris, Robert Morris, Lucille Fitzgerald, Ranait Fitzgerald and Anna Morris; one sister, Janice Goode of Randlett; one nephew, Terry Goode and wife, Debbie, of Grandfield; one niece, Dana Vache of Randlett; stepchildren, Robert R. Austin and wife, Elizabeth, of Tulsa, and Susan B. Austin of San Bernardino, Calif.; stepgrandchildren, Robert B. Austin of San Bernardino, Calif., and Bailey, Darcy, Emma and Kate Austin of Tulsa. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jean Austin may be made to The Arbor Hospice Foundation in support of the Music Therapy Program of Arbor Hospice & Home Care, 2366 Oak Valley Drive, Ann Arbor, Mich. 48103.
