::East Mound Cemetery--??

Lois Bird

MATADOR - Lois Bird, 93, died Friday, May 8, 1998.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with 
the Rev. Monte Wilke, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in East Mound 
Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador.

Mrs. Bird was born in Eastland. She had been a resident of Motley County 
since 1924. She was a retired school teacher and ranch operator. She was a 
member of First United Methodist Church.

She married Carl M. Bird in 1924 at Walters, Okla. He died in 1966. She 
also was preceded in death by a daughter, Iletta "Toots" Brinfield, in 
1988.

Survivors include a foster sister, Johnnie Jeffers of Plainview; two 
grandsons, James Bearden and Ross Bearden, both of Matador; four great-
grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
