All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 2 Apr 2003 Bert Cox Sr. GERONIMO - Graveside service for Bert Cox Sr., 84, Geronimo, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Walters Cemetery with the Rev. Delbert Hughes officiating. Mr. Cox died Monday, March 31, 2003 in Geronimo. Arrangements are by Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters. He was born Dec. 11, 1918 in Wise County, Texas to John Jefferson and Avey Yates Cox. He moved west of Walters and later to Lawton. He married Mae Gill June 6, 1936 at Lawton. During World War II he worked in a Naval Shipyard in San Francisco. He returned to Lawton and worked for Howard Smith ford, T.D. Allen and Charley Wade Oldsmobile as a paint, body, and fender man. He moved to Geronimo in 1966. Survivors include his wife of the home; four sons: Aaron Gene, and Robert Dale Cox and Bert Olen Cox Jr. all of Geronimo; and Olin Dean Cox, Rush Springs; three daughters: Berdie Evelyn Sayre, Geronimo; Carolyn Sue Elliott, Walters; and Helen Mae Hasting, Lawton; a brother, Bill Cox; and a sister, Ruby Turex, both of Oroville, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Cotton County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/cotton/cotton.htm
