All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Duncan Banner 7 Apr 2002 Mahota Mae Caruthers Mahota Mae Caruthers, 94, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Duncan, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, in El Paso. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel in Duncan with the Rev. Winston Curtis officiating. Burial will be in the Walters Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mrs. Caruthers was born Dec. 14, 1907, in Walters to Champ Marcus and Mattie Maebell Hensley Marable. She married Welden Judson Caruthers on Dec. 14, 1926, in Lawton, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1990. She was a homemaker and a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Judson Lee Caruthers and his wife, Veda, of El Paso; a daughter, Avanell Lewis and her husband, J.R., of Crockett, Texas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Bearers will be Warren Weaver, F.R.
