The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ===================================================================== Surnames: Carney, Law, Davidson, Lovett, Huffman, Cornforth, Slobig Walters Herald-Sept. 27, 1951 Funeral services for Alvin Price Carney, pioneer west county farmer, were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Pearson Funeral Home chapel by Rev. John J. Evans, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Walters Cemetery. Carney was born near Ft. Smith, Arkansas, December 10, 1867. He and Mrs. Carney were married at Bonham, Texas in 1897. They moved to Oklahoma in 1907 and settled on a farm west of Walters. He retired from the farm 15 years ago and moved to this city. About a year ago he moved to Lawton. Mrs. Carney passed away Auguest 5, 1951. Survivors include six daughters and two sons, Mrs. C. A. Law, Mrs. G. L. Davidson, Mrs. C. F. Lovett and Eugene Carney of Lawton, Mrs. M. K. Huffman of Dallas, Mrs. A. L. Cornforth of Guthrie, Mrs. R. R. Slobig of California and A. J. Carney of Walters; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. (Note: Actually Alvin P. Carney was born in Arkadelphia, Clark Co. Arkansas and he and Mable Johnson were married in Delta Co.
