Evans. She had a wonderful marriage and a long and fruitful life and worked until her retirement at age 80. She spent over 27 years with Alhambra Typewriter where she was the buyer for office supplies and somewhat of a "legend" in the business. She was born in Temple, Oklahoma and moved to Missouri as a child. She graduated from high school where she excelled in academics and served as a feisty forward on the girl's basketball team. She worked many years in fashions for Montgomery Ward of Alhambra until Ben Parker, owner and founder of Alhambra Typewriter, recruited her to work for him. She found a home there doing things she dearly loved. After retirement, Maybelle moved to Berthoud, CO where she made her home close to her son Linus, Jr. and his wife Sherry. Maybelle's husband Linus passed away in 1974. Her three brothers Cecil, Thomas and Henry Clark preceded her in passing. Her only child, Linus, Jr. of Berthoud, CO, a granddaughter Mindy Marie Williams of Norco, CA and two great-grandchildren Lyndsey and Jacob Williams of Norco survive her. Friends and family are invited to an informal gathering at Rose Hills Memorial Park, Mortuary Chapel in Whittier, CA on Thursday, August 14, 2003, at 3:00 p.m. where we will bid her farewell and wish her the very best for the rest of her journey. Bring your "Maybelle" stories to share!
