She was born July 16, 1910 in Temple, OK to John and Fannie Rice. Virginia attended OCW and Central State University and earned a teacher's certificate, as an honor roll student as she had been in high school. She had a career of 39 years as office manager and field supervisor in the Department of Labor of Oklahoma Employment Security Commission. She devoted her life to church, community and family. Church and her Bible have always been an important part of Virginia's life. She was a member of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church. In the community, she was on the Board of the Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled, enjoyed the civic music club, volunteered weekly for 13 years at Presbyterian Hospital, and was Vice-President of ROSES (a retired Oklahoma employment organization). Virginia has been a resident of Bellevue Nursing Center for 6 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Harry L. Rice, sister Kathryn Adams, son Charles B. Kidson, Jr. and a granddaughter. Virginia is survived by her grandchildren Kay Kidson Holt and Cheney Flint Kidson, four great-grandchildren, niece Johnna Hopper, nephew Roy Adams, II, grand- nieces Bonnie Ledford and Robin Devere, grand-nephew Roy Adams III, grand-niece Kathryn Virginia Stedmueller and 9 great-grand-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2002 at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church with interment at 2:30 p.m. in Highland Cemetery, Lawton, OK. Memorial contributions may be made to Nichols Hills United Methodist Church or Centenary United Methodist Church, Lawton.
