All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 21 Mar 2003 Orville Kennedy WALTERS — Funeral for Orville Kennedy, 79, Walters, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Walters First Baptist Church with Dr. Tony Nickel officiating. Mr. Kennedy died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at an Oklahoma City care center. Burial will be at Walters Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters. He was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Fox to Roy L. and Emily Gossett Kennedy. His mother died when he was young and he was raised by Roy L. and Lola Kennedy. He married Dorothy Carter on March 15, 1947, in Gainesville, Texas. He lived in Fox until joining the U.S. Navy during World War II. After military service, he worked in the oilfield. He retired from Total Petroleum Company in 1986. He was a member of Walters First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Oklahoma City; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Michael Ossenkop, Oklahoma City; five brothers and sisters-in- law, Millard and Carol and Perry and Marjorie, all of Duncan; Gerald and Cheri, Canton, Texas; Elmer and Geri, Wills Point, Texas; and Dean and Sandi, Red Oak, Texas; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Jewell Merryman, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Faye and Carl Horton, Healdton; two grandsons: Todd Ossenkop and his wife, Tracey, and Brian Ossenkop, Oklahoma City; and a great-grandson, Gavin Ossenkop, Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother; two brothers, Harrell and Martin; and a sister, Ernestine.
