All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== :: McPhail, Carol Ann Carol Ann McPhail was born January 22, 1933 in Walters, Okla. She passed through this life October 14, 2006 in Indio. She was the daughter of Mary and Kenneth Ruyle of Walters, Okla. She attended grade school and high school in Walters and attended The University of Oklahoma where she studied music in 1951 and 1952. At age 19, she married Coleman "Buck" McPhail on December 28, 1952. Together, as a couple, they lived and shared experiences in many places around the country: Baltimore, Md., Norman, Okla., Berkeley, Calif., Champain-Urbana, Il., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., then moving to Costa Mesa in 1972, where they resided until 1996, and then retired to Palm Springs (Indio). Carol Ann was a resident of the Palm Springs area for the last ten years, residing at the Indian Palms Country Club where she and Buck built their retirement home. She was a true, loyal, dedicated, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In retirement, Carol Ann and Buck took advantage of their passion to travel, visiting 6 continents. After being married for 52 wonderful years, she overcame the loss of her spouse, through time spent with her children, grandchildren and good friends. She showed tremendous courage in her battle with cancer, and her spirit is now joined again with Buck, in life everlasting. She is survived by one cousin, June Lott of Houston, Texas; son, Steve and wife, Kellie; granddaughters, Darbie and Grace, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; son, John and wife, Karen, grand-daughter, Lauren and grandson, Patrick, of San Diego; and daughter, Lisa, and grandson, Kyle, of San Diego. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19. at Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, 47192 Monroe Street, Indio. Reception immediately following at The Celebrity House, Indian Palm Country Club, 48630 Monroe Street, Indio.
