All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Walters Cemetery--Walters OK Lawton Consitituion 15 May 2003 Eva Mae Pope WHITEHOUSE, Texas - Funeral for former Walters resident Eva Mae Pope, 70, Whitehouse, Texas, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Chapel, Walters, with the Rev. Carlton Campbell officiating. Mrs. Pope died Monday, May 12, 2003, in Tyler, Texas. Burial will be at Walters Cemetery. She was born July 16, 1932, in Walters, to Fred Roy and Odessa Berry Simmons. She grew up southwest of Walters, and attended Temple Schools. She married Walter Laverne Pope on June 11, 1949, in Henrietta, Texas. She moved to Tulsa in 1955, then to Irving, Texas, in 1980. In 1992, she moved to Whitehouse. Survivors include a son, Fred Pope, Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Carolyn Garrett, Whitehouse, Texas; a brother, Jack Simmons, Walters; three grandchildren: Michael Garrett, Rebecca Garrett and Whitney Pope; and a great-grandson, Christian Steele Empie.
