Robbins FLETCHER — Funeral for Homer W. Robbins, 92, Fletcher, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Fletcher, with the Rev. A.L. Swagerty, Fletcher, and the Rev. Rodney Campbell, pastor, officiating. Mr. Robbins died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at his home. Burial will be at Elgin Memorial Lawn Cemetery under direction of Robbins Funeral Home, Fletcher. He was born Sept. 11, 1911, in Fort Worth, Texas, to James Orlen and Ella Van Dora Hart Robbins. There were 11 siblings in his family. He lived in Devol as a child and attended school at Fort Auger. He married Hazel Dee Willis on Jan. 18, 1936, in Walters. He moved to Elgin in 1937, where he farmed. In 1945, he went to work for Consolidated Gas Co. and worked and lived in Keechi, Cement, Rush Springs and worked west of Marlow. He moved to Elgin in 1956, and lived there until moving to Fletcher in 1990. He retired from Arkla Gas Co. in 1973. He was a well tender. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Fletcher. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Dale Robbins and his wife, Carolyn, Fletcher; a daughter, Janette Tate and her husband, Luther, Elgin; three brothers: Clyde Robbins, Ardmore; Clint Robbins, Newton, Kan.; and George Robbins and his wife, Flo, The Colony, Texas; a sister, Marie Moore, Gilmer, Texas; four grandchildren: Alan Robbins and his wife, Kathy; Chickasha; Dana Hodge, Fletcher, Tracy Spelce, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; Brian Tate and his wife, Christy, Elgin; great-grandchildren: Shelby, Harrison and Ryan Hodge, all of Fletcher; Cassie and Allison Tate, Elgin; and Zachary Robbins, Chickasha. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Nora Germany, Lena Belle High and Laura Mae Hopkins; three brothers: Alvin Robbins, Raymond Robbins and Kenneth Robbins. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church, 301 W. Hornaday Ave., Fletcher, 73541.
