All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Lawton Constitution 8 Apr 2003 Vermont Shaw WALTERS — Funeral for Vermont Shaw, 84, Walters, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Walters First United Methodist Church with Dr. Kip Wright officiating. Mr. Shaw died Monday, April 7, 2003, in Lawton. Burial will be at Walters Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters. He was born Feb. 23, 1919, west of Walters, to Roy Albert and Bonnie Bell Bacon Shaw. He grew up west of Walters and married Dorothy Stogner May 25, 1939 at Duncan. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. After that he worked as a machinist for Haliburton in Duncan. He also worked as a lineman for Cotton Electric for 20 years, taught lineman school at Red River Vo-Tech for two years and was field inspector for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission for seven years. He was a member of Walters First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Gary V. and Vicki Shaw, Tulsa; and Stanley L. and Dona Shaw, Graham, Texas; a sister, Mozelle McIlvey, Oklahoma City; five grandchildren: Greg, Mike, Scott, Todd and Tiffany; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Anna, Lauren and Ciara. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to Cotton County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/cotton/cotton.htm
