Service was to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Addington Baptist Church with Mike Bernhardt officiating. Burial was to be in Walters Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Waurika. Mrs. Thompson was born Jan. 6, 1940, in Walters to Joe and Fern McNeil. She married Hershal Olen Thompson on June 24, 1964, in Henrietta, Texas. He preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1995. Mrs. Thompson was a hairdresser for 24 years, the janitor and cook for Waurika Public Schools and also was the head jailer for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. She was a member of Addington Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons and their wives, Paschal Hershal and Darrelyn Thompson of Waurika, Jimmy and Barbara Thompson of Ratliff City, and Ray and Donna Thompson of Chickasha; three daughters, Kathy Joe Kovash and Patsy Ruth Wood both of Waurika, and Billie Fern Owen of Duncan; a sister, Colleen McLemore of Addington; 17 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a host of special nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dixie Deaton, Lois Hall, Darlene Latta and Sandy Beavers.
