All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Fairview Cemetery--Vinita OK The Grove Daily Sun 18 Jan 2007 KATHLEEN (GILES) ATKINSON 1910-2006 VINITA, Okla. - Kathleen (Giles) Atkinson, 96 of Vinita passed away peacefully at her home Friday, August 04, 2006. Kathleen was born on February 24, 1910 in Salina, Okla. to John and Margaret (Vaughan) Giles. Kathleen retired from American Airlines as a keypunch operator. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Vinita, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #577 in Tulsa. Kathleen was united in marriage to W.E. Atkinson in Seattle, Wash. Her family, neighbors and friends will truly miss Kathleen. Survivors include: one sister, Margaret Winton of Tahlequah, Okla.; one brother, Roy Giles of Tulsa; and several nieces and nephews. Kathleen was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband W. E. Atkinson, three brothers Allen, Kenneth (twin brother) and Charles, and three sisters Ethel, Mabel and Eva. Services honoring Kathleen will be held on Tuesday, August 8, at 2 p.m. at Burckhalter Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bill Beard officiating. Casket bearers will be Roy Dean Giles, Doyle Egnor, Kim Giles and Jim Watkins. Honorary bearers will be nephews Bob Downuns, John Giles, Ronnie Watkins, Donald Giles and Jeff Waldrop. Burial is to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
