Elliott, 79, died Tuesday at the Broadway Manor Nursing Home in Muskogee. In the late 1920s, Elliott was the world champion bulldogger and was a charter member of the Rodeo Cowboys Association. After retirement, Elliott returned to Muskogee. He announced the first rodeo held in 1935 in Vinita and was the announcer for several years for the Will Rogers Memorial Rodeo. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, Muskogee. Survivors include his wife, Renna Elliott, Muskogee; one son, George Elliott, Tahlequah; one brother, Bob Elliott, Fort Gibson; two sisters, Mrs. Jean Ferry and Mrs. Lometa Deere, both of Muskogee; two grandchildren and seven cousins, Joe Hamilton, Jake Hamilton, Mrs. Archie Jones and Nellie McDonald, all of Vinita, Ollie Lewis, Tulsa, Maude Pierce, Grants Pass, Ore., and Louise Judd, Joplin, Mo. Services were held Thursday in the Petering Funeral Home, Muskogee.
