The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgwarchives.net/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CLEORA (CLEO) IMA FUGATE OCNS - April 22, 2002 - Long time and much loved, Timberhill, Oklahoma resident, Cleora (Cleo) Ima Fugate, 95, passed away at the Sunset Manor Home in Frontenac, Kansas, Saturday, April 20, 2002, after a long illness. Cleo was born April 4, 1907, in Cleora, Oklahoma, the daughter of Mark Harmon and Sadie Eubanks Weddel. She attended Bluejacket school and on December 25, 1925, married Clyde Fugate. Their union lasted until Mr. Fugate passed away in 1953. Cleo was employed for many years at the Timberhill Country School as a custodian and cook. A fine Christian woman all her life, Cleo was an active member of the Timberhill Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend to everyone in the area. She enjoyed doing all types of crafts, including crocheting, tatting, quilting and embroidery, and enjoyed making gifts for family and friends. Cleo is lovingly survived by two sons, Norman Fugate of Independence, Missouri, and Laval Fugate of Long Beach, Mississippi; one daughter, Deloras James of Pittsburgh, Kansas; one sister, Lena Baily of Edmond, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren, and many other loving family and friends. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Jerry Fugate (in 1995) and Paul Fugate (in 1994); six brothers and three sisters. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita, Oklahoma with Pastor Roy Miller officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Cleo's grandsons and great grandsons, Jesse James, Mike James, Larry Fugate, Lane Brant, Clint James and Jason Brant. The body will lie in state at the Thomas Funeral Home in Welch, Oklahoma where the family will meet at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday. Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
