All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Luginbuel FH--Vinita OK Vinita (Ok) Daily Journal, Dec 1, 1983 Finnell Boyd Finnell, 72-year-old well-known Vinitan, died Wednesday night at his home. He was born July 31, 1911, in Vinita, and had made his home here all his life. Finnell was a very active Thoroughbred race horse trainer and raced horses in Hot Springs, Ark., Omaha, Neb., and many race tracks in Kentucky and Delaware and in Canada. Finnell had served on the Craig County Fair Board and had served one term as president. He was also a past commander of the VFW. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Finnell, of the home, 629 N. Second; children, Mrs. Colleen Gwartney, Tulsa, and Clay Finnell, Vinita; sisters, Mrs. Beulah Icabone, Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. Vera Fields, Vinita, Mrs. Dora Lee Bluejacket, Bluejacket, and Mrs. Betty Clarkson, Baxter Springs, Kan., and six grandchildren.
