Mr. Harris, of Grants Pass, died Monday (Aug. 5, 2002) at Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass. Burial will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass. He was born Jan. 26, 1918, in Centralia, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. On Oct. 6, 1939, in Los Angeles, he married Katherine McCormick, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass in 1949 from Los Angeles. Mr. Harris worked for 30 years at Southern Oregon Plywood until his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Jimmie and Roger, both Grants Pass; a daughter, Linda Rossiter, Grants Pass; two sisters, Ela Blackmon, of Modesto, Calif., and Mary Hogarth, Fallon, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
