"BUTCH" HENSLEY 1944-2005 VINITA, Okla. - Earl L. "Butch" Hensley, 61 year old lifetime Vinita resident, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Rosewood Terrace Nursing Home in Vinita, Oklahoma following a long illness. Butch was born on February 1, 1944 at Vinita, Oklahoma to Earl Lloyd Hensley and Truly Martha Jane (Peetoom) Hensley. Butch was retired from Eastern State Hospital where he worked in Security and Nursing. He was a graduate of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections training school. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam conflict. Butch loved hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and spending time with his grandchildren. Butch and Janice Simpson were married on June 23^rd , 1972 at the Craig County Sheriffs office by Sheriff George Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Janice of the home, daughters Deborah Lynn Schlidt and husband Jay of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania, Sherri M. Wright and husband Sam of Miami, Oklahoma, Deborah Lynn Lister and husband Jim of Henderson, Nevada and Sabrina Franks of Camp Verde, Arizona, sons John James Nesbitt and wife Trish of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Jackie J. Hensley of Vinita. Also surviving are his brothers Harold R. Hensley and wife Nolene of Afton, Oklahoma, Bob J. Hensley and wife Hazel of Vinita, Oklahoma and Berchel Hensley also of Vinita and his sister Modeane R. Robinson and husband Richard of Vinita, 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. There will be a family visitation Wednesday evening, October 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burckhalter Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 20^th at Fairview cemetery in Vinita with Pastor George Vaughn officiating.
