Johnston Harley M. Johnston, 90-year-old Vinitan, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. He was born June 12, 1888, in Lenville, Iowa, and came to this area as a child. Johnston was married to his wife, Nora, in Kansas in 1946 and was a retired farmer and member of the First Baptist Church, Vinita. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Mrs. Arlene Hayward, Tulsa, Mrs. Iwanda Allen, Grand Prairie, Texas, and Mrs. Ruth Goff, Stigler; four step-daughters, Mrs. Esther Spinden, Vinita, Mrs. Mae Butler, Ocean Park, Wash., Mrs. Georgia Hawkins, Miami, and Mrs. Frances Perry, Portland, Ore.; two step-sons, Oscar Flint, Modesto, Calif., and Earl Flint, DeQueen, Ark.; 37 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Vinita, with the Rev. Charles McBee officiating.
