KARR DIES Heart Attack Proves Fatal to Former Mayor of Vinita World's Own Services VINITA, Nov. 16 -- GEORGE W. KARR, 72, former Vinita mayor, and later member of the city council, died suddenly today from a heart attack.Karr was working on the roof of his bilding, occupied by the Vinita Motorcompany at the time of the attack, and was rushed across the street tothe Vinita Hospital, where efforts to revive him failed.He is survived by his wife, five sons, W. D. of Leuders, Texas; LOY and CHARLES of Roseville, Cal.; MELVIN of Sacramento, Cal., and EARL of Montique. Cal.: four daughters, Mrs. J. C. MERTON, Mrs. E. J. ROBINSON and Mrs. J. R. SUETTA of Roseville, and Mrs. PEARL MELONE, Silver Creek, Nevada; also one grandaughter and three grandsons. Funeral services will not be announced until word is received from relatives, according to officials of the Reid Luginbuel Funeral Home. VINITA FIRMS CLOSE FOR KARR SERVICES Masonic Funeral Rites Today for Former Mayor World's Own Service VINITA (OK), November 19 (probably 1936) Mayor A. D. WARNER today issued a proclamation asking all business houses be closed from 2 o'clock until 3 o'clock Friday afternoon during funeral serves for George W. Karr, former mayor, member of the city council and prominent charity worker. Karr was at one time head of the Red Cross chapter in Craig county, and during two winters operated a soup kitchen in this city. He died Monday afternoon of a heart attack. Services will be held at the Christian church with Rev. O. T. MOLINE, pastor, in charge. Interment will be made in the Fairview cemetery. Active pallbearers were announced as GEORGE FOGLE, S. F. WALLEN, GRADY GRIFFIN, M. R. KAPPS, J. A. MORRISON AND CHARLES POWELL. Honorary pallbearers: MAYOR A. D. WARNER, SAM LOVE, C. C. LONG, H. C. DEMUNBRUN, CLYDE THOMSON, J. H. WIMER, JAMES KENREIGH, ED HILL, JOE A. FREDERICK, ROY WARNER, JOHN HAVEN and J.W. HALL.
