All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Memorial Lawn Cemetery--Parsons KS Vinita (Ok) Daily Journal, 1987 Lewis Lisel (Larson) Lewis, 85, formerly of Vinita, died Tuesday in a Bakersfield, Calif. hospital. Lewis was born Aug. 5, 1901 at Moline, Ill. to Charles and Eva (Linville) McClung. The family moved to Elsmore, Kan. in 1914 where Lewis great up. She was married to Ernest Larson in Elsmore. The couple moved to Vinita in 1930 and resided here until 1962. While in Vinita, Lewis was employed at Eastern State Hospital for seven years and was also a rural mail carrier in the Welch and Jay areas. Mr. Larson died May 30, 1964. Lewis then married Clarence Lewis on March 28, 1972 in Miami. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1979. Lewis resided in Parsons, Kan. for several years before moving to Bakersfield on May 12, of this year. She was a member of the Christian Church of Savonburg, Kan. Survivors include four sons, Russell Larson and Lorraine Larson, both of Vinita; Wayne Larson, Parsons; and Jack Larson, Bossier City, La.; and two daughtrers, Lavon Thompson, Parsons; and Laverne Bond, Bakersfield. Other survivors include a step-son, Ben Lewis, Orange, Calif.; three step-daughters, Janet Myers, Mound Valley, Kan.; Diana H opper, Oologah; and Peggy Stringer, Parsons; a brother, Charley McClung, California; 22 grandchidlren, 46 great- grandchildren and several step-granchildren. Services for Lewis will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Parsons, with the Rev. David Ockerman officiating. The family will receive friends from to 8 p.m. Friday at the Burris-Carson-Wall Funeral Chapel, Parsons. memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
