All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Glenn Abbey Memorial Gardens--Miami OK The Grove Daily Sun 22 Oct 2005 RUTH STROUP LINTON 1928-2005 MIAMI, Okla. - Ruth Stroup Linton of Miami died early Sunday morning at her home after a sudden illness. She was 77. Mrs. Linton was born September 4, 1928 in Vinita, Oklahoma to Arthur and Pansey (Barrett) Jones. She graduated from Afton High School. She retired from Oklahoma State Bank in Vinita. She was a member of the Better Breathers, the L'itle Club, the Pilot Club of Miami in which she served as an officer. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Miami. On July 12, 1975 she married Elmer Fred Stroup in Vinita, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 10, 2003. On September 10, 2004 she married William Linton in Miami. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include one son, Randy Claggett of Las Vegas, Nevada; three daughters, Linda and her husband Richard Castaldo of Grove, OK, Maretha Wescott of Fairland, OK, and Cheryl Burton of Prairie Village, Kansas; her mother, Pansey Wharton of Grove, OK; two brothers, Raymond Jones of Belton, MO, and Paul Jones of Beggs, OK; three sisters, Martha Claggett of Vinita, OK, Lucille Whitchurch of Jay, OK, and Ruth Ann Schwan of Lafayette, CA; six grandchildren; Travis and his wife Dianna, Tyler, Richie and his wife Brianna, Jeremy, Maria, and Crystal. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at the Cooper-Althouse Funeral Home in Miami. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Miami with Rev. Rick Longcrier officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Abbey Memorial Gardens east of Miami. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mrs. Linton's grandchildren, Travis Wescott, Tyler Wescott, Richie Castaldo, Jeremy Castaldo, Maria Castaldo and Crystal Claggett.
