All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Bluejacket Cemetery--Bluejacket OK Vinita (Ok) Daily Journal, Page 58 Sept 9, 1974, Vinita Ok Daily Journal: Joseph Mays Joseph Mays, 85-year-old longtime Bluejacket resident, passed away Saturday evening in a Miami hospital. Born April 11, 1889, near Afton, Indian Territory, he married the former Rose Weston in Afton in 1915 and moved to his present residence. He was a farmer most of his life. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Rose Mays, of the home; three daughters, Evelyn Speer, Bluejacket, Pauline Powell, Okmulgee, and Lola Giles, Fairland; three sons, Bob Mays and Kenneth Mays, both of Miami, and Leslie Mays, Buckner, Mo; three sisters, Mrs. Josie Gail and Mrs. Della Gilbert, both of Miami, and Mrs. Gertie Hanna, Fairland; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Luginbuel Funeral Chapel, with Don Livingston officiating.
