Wooten DIMMITT - Ruth M. Wooten, 93, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Christian Church with Roy Barringer, former minister, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mrs. Wooten was born in Frederick, Okla., and graduated from Erick High School in 1925. After passing her teacher's exam, she began teaching in rural school in Beckham County, Okla. She earned her bachelor's degree in 1954 in Weatherford, Okla. In 1946, she moved to Dimmitt where she taught in the public schools. She moved to Vinita, Okla., in 1956 and taught schools in Welch. In 1969, she returned to Dimmitt. She was a member of First Christian Church. She married Richard Wooten in 1940 at Beckham County. He died in January. Survivors include a niece, Bobbie Ruth Eubanks of Afton, Okla.; two sisters, Ruth MacKinlay of Drumheller, Alberta, Canada and Velma Roach of Trochu, Alberta; and two brothers, Leroy Roach of Trochu and Bill Roach of Sylvan Lake, Canada. The family suggest memorials be to First Christian Church, 604 Western Circle Dr., Dimmitt, TX 79027.
