Service was at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, in Mannford Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Steve Quinnelly and Sonny Johnston officiating. Burial was in Barnsdall Cemetery with military honors conducted by American Legion Post No. 227. Mr. Butler was born May 24, 1931, in Pampa, Texas, to Charles Curtis and Laura Marie Butler. He and Mary were married on Aug. 15, 1951, in Glendale, Calif. Mr. Butler was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Air Force. He was retired from the State of Oklahoma as an Assistant District Manager. Survivors include his loving wife of the home; two daughters and a son-in- law, Gwen Butler-Contreras of Houston, Texas, and Alana and Tony Ferguson of Sapulpa; a son, Jim W. Butler of Lafayette, La.; a sister and brother- in-law, Beth and Loren Rapp of Hooker; six grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Hospice, 4720 S.
