All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Pauline Potts Copeland Services: Wed., Aug. 21, 11 a.m. Pauline was born in Bristow, Oklahoma, April 13, 1921, and left this life August 15, 2002, with 5 generations of her family gathered by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Perry Copeland. Pauline moved with her parents and 13 siblings from Oklahoma to Shafter, CA, when she was 13. Following her marriage to Perry they moved their home to Wasco where they raised their four children. Pauline was an active participant in the lives of her children and in her community. She served as PTA president of the grammar and high schools, was a Blue Bird and Camp Fire Girls leader. She is a life-time member and past president of VFW Auxiliary. She is a member of the Order of Eastern Star, a Past Matron and served as a Deputy Grand-Matron. Paulines greatest hobby was her sewing. She had a fabric store in Wasco, Paulines Yardage, for over 20 years, then started the Apparels of Pauline designing and constructing as many as 1,200 evening gowns a year for members of the Order of Eastern Star. Pauline loved to work and always had several projects to keep she and Perry busy. She won many ribbons in the Kern County Fair for her quilts and hand-crochet items. Pauline and Perry moved to Wyoming in 1983, and built their own log home. They enjoyed entertaining their family and friends at their home there. Pauline leaves a large family to mourn her passing: daughters, Beverly Jones and Paula Reel of Bakersfield, Donna Andrews and her husband, Harold of Auburn, Wyoming; and her son, James Copeland and wife, Maxine of Kingman, Arizona; sisters, Martha Regier of Wasco, CA, Aline Bryan of El Paso, Texas, Bernice Cerimeles, and husband, Gino of Chico, CA, Delores Brooks and husband, Cecil of Sierra Vista, Arizona; brothers, Victor Potts and wife, Thelma of Atwater, CA, Norman Potts and wife, Grace of Fillmore, CA, Le Roy Potts of Newark, CA, and Jim Potts and wife, Tina of Tulare, CA; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great- grandchildren, and 40 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2002, 11:00 a.m., at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco. Please contact them at 758-5144.
