Chambless SUNRAY - Betty L. Chambless, 72, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, in Mission. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Lane Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. David Purl, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Sunray, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mrs. Chambless was born Jan. 13, 1930, in Gypsy, Okla. She married Gene Chambless on Jan. 20, 1950, in Sunray. She had last worked as a bookkeeper for an insurance and real estate company. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star Dumas Chapter No. 650. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by a son, Kimmy Chambless in 1973. Survivors include her husband; a son, Michael Chambless of Sunray; three brothers, Bill Hickman and Ray Hickman, both of Amarillo, and Ricky Hickman of Arlington. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Sunray, P.O. Box 306, Sunray, TX 79086. The body will be available for viewing in Dumas.
