All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Wilma Chandler DALHART - Wilma Chandler, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Church of the Nazarene in Dalhart with John Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home. Mrs. Owens was born in Pittsburg, Kan., on June 3, 1913, to the Rev. John H. and Anne (Nunn) Owens. They lived in various towns and states before she graduated from Sapulpa, Okla., High School. She met Raman Chandler in Tucumcari, N.M., and they were married there on Aug. 4, 1940. They farmed in the Clovis, N.M., area before moving to Dalhart in 1943. An active member for more than 40 years in the Church of the Nazarene, Wilma taught Sunday school and served as missionary society president. She had also served as a 55-Plus club director. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three brothers; and five sisters. Survivors include two sons, Raman Jr. of Colleyville and James "Jim" Chandler of Dalhart; two daughters, Doris Thompson of Arvada, Colo., and Kathryn "Kay" Peck of Las Vegas, N.M.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
